I think once I read the story about how this all came about I had a new established love for him AND the rest of the band. But once I heard him singing and heard "WIshing Well" I just knew this was the shit! What a lucky bunch we are!

I think the way it all came together gave Travis joining the band the credibility it needed to win me over. It happened when I saw him for the second time in Starkville. You could really tell how much he genuinly appreciated being on that stage.

HE had me pretty good once I heard belly and then the other 2 "mach2" tracks that were released, But seein him take the stage with them for the first time at club hell, CMON that was such a golden moment, I was glad that the band that meant so much to me made such a triumphant return and glad I was there to witness it, and trais was JUST a monster and he naaaaaaaailed everytune while still makin them all his own, and thats the only way replacing shannon woulda worked, and travis def nails it
and totally a different vibe and side of the spectrum but I was a big phish guy for a while, but I'd rather have THIS melon then a regular phish reunion anyday.........and thats quite a feat

I will admit that when the band announced the reformation I was so happy to hear they were going to play together again! When I heard Travis in the Harmful Belly video I got such an eery feeling through my body! I was devastated that Shannon was gone in a new way to me and yet LOVED this sound at the same time! I really agree with Sonya that there is some emulation of Shannon but hell, I might gesture in some way that he did as a fan watching live footage....it's natural to me and he IS a fan first. I think that's a big part of why he won me over and he damn sure has the chops to honor Shannon!

Funny, Cynical bastard like me I was absolutly floored by for my friends. But this guy was going to have have done something before coming to melon. checked out alot of his solo stuff. "nervous nelly" I think was the point where I said this f'ing guy is the real deal. I love that song
