Ok, what happened was totally shitty for both sides. It was, musically, a match made in heaven. But whats done is fucking done I guess.
I was wondering a few things about Travis. I know he's been in rehab a few times, does anyone know what for? I read some time ago that Zipcodes from RFR was written after a night on ecstasy, and MySpace picture of him has the caption "Pharmies" and he looks completely stoned. Matt did an interview with Travis early on the new Melon era, and Travis talked briefly about drug abuse. I was just curious what his demons were. I hope he won't become another heroin/ cocaine casualty, as too many greats have done. Does anyone know if he showed up to concerts out of it? It kind of had me worried because of so many legeneds who have succumbed to drugs at such a young age, around the age Travis is at, and we lost them. Jim Morrison, Janis joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Andrew Wood, Kurt Cobain, and Shannon Hoon immediately come to mind. I pray that we don't add Travis to that list.

Well, sorry but I am completely disillusioned with him. In his inital bomb drop blog he said he went to the specialist/Dr. but in Rogers blog he said Travis did NOT ever go to that apptmnt - it sounds like they were talking about the same Dr. - so it seems Travis is not being honest...so what else has he not been honest about?
I saw them in Lafayette for Shannon's b-day and I remember thinking Travis did not seem so happy - like he did not care to be there and he did NOT participate in autographs afterwards - everyone was saying "Where's Travis?". I should think he'd know that Lafayette of all places would be important to meet fans/family of Shannon. Maybe he was sick of being in Shannon's shadow and wanted for notarity for himself?
I can't help it, I feel let down and I feel he does not care. He's young and it went to his head. Hopefully he'll kick himself once he grows up. He is incredibly talented but that does not mean he is a great guy. The world is full of talented jerks. Most of us do not know him - but just project what we want him to be like onto him and it's not realistic.
He said he wants to get on w/ his solo album? Obvious what he's been concentrating on! Does he think we're idiots? I dont' think I can listen to him sing for a while.

I was just starting to get used to hearing "For My Friends" on my iPod. Just when I started to say "Okay.I think I'm starting to like the way he sings on the album" this happens.
Ah well. It's Blind Melon that I'm in it for. Maybe this will end up being a good thing.

I think it will be resiak. For all the love we have for the band, if they were starting to be unhappy with Travis, I'm happy for them that they are moving on. Chapter 3 on its way ....

I remember him being stoned out of his mind in Grand Rapids. Fricking OWL eyes stoned, something other than pot thats for sure, but this is just speculation, I kept telling myself he was just really tired.
