Anyone know how to rip these off his page? Every method I use does not work. And yes, I will buy his album if he ever releases it.

I use this: www.afreecodec.com/2031/free-mp3-recorder/Free, easy to use. Change record from to "Stereo Mix" Set record to wav or mp3 (up the bitrate rate for mp3) Press start on recorder then on play on myspace player and stop when finished. Keep in mind any sounds coming through your computer will be recorded so best not to do anything while recording.

Matt-I personally love the drum machines, but I'm partial to it for some reason. I don't even know why. Probably from listening to Travis so much.
Travis reminds me a lot of Axl Rose. Not only because of the vocal styles (high ranges, raspy, etc), but Travis seems to love layering (a la Chinese demcracy) and takes forever to hear from. seems very reclusive. Regardless, I want his album. Or demos. Who cares if they aren't done Travis, get them out

Who cares if they aren't done Travis, get them out I'd much rather hear Travis bust out some great songs, with a great band... instead of sitting at home, recording tunes with a drum machine.. You brought up Axl... (This is just me) I would never compare Travis and Axl (Shannon also never wanted to talk about GnR when Melon finally surfaced). I dont hear any influence (from Axl, or GnR) in Travis' song writing. Travis is at a higher level.... (even though the GnR name is already branded in rock history, and a sure bet to be inducted in the Rock-n-Roll hall of fame)... Travis writes better songs.. But, in reality... if he doesnt capitalize on his talent, he's never going to be recognized. Everyone with a few bucks, and some equipment, can record a home record. Travis is too talented to JUST do that. He needs to grab a few of his buddies, record an album, tour like a mofo, and make a name for himself.

Just a coincidence I am sure. If you listen to Semester A and then Pinbacks song, Non-Photo Blue, the beginnings are pretty similar. I have them both on my MySpace playlist if you want to see what I am referring to: myspace.com/takeon1or2Anyone else agree?

well, i wont say travis is just alot like axl, but you gotta admit that on fmf he goes axl quite a bit. i mean, last laugh is my fav off the album, but i always say.....but he gets a little too axl in parts of it. im not an axl fan. guns n roses have several songs i like, but not really a big fan of axl's voice......for me, travis, the great talent he is, sounds like alot of different people depending on what song hes singing. to me, this might make it hard for people to really identify him by his music. dont get me wrong, i think hes a great talent, but he does tend to sound like different people.......he sounds kinda bob dylanish on some stuff.....what made him great in blind melon was his ability to adapt to the melon sound w/o sounding a whole lot like shannon, i dont know..his ability to adapt may be limiting him in getting a record deal cause his sound kinda bends depending on the song.just tryin to look at it from a label's point of view.....the business nonsense of it all....this may come off totally different than how i mean it....not slammin travis at all. he's a huge talent.

^^ If I were to look at Travis, in the label's point of view, and check out the 100 + songs he's written, I'd sign him.... just as long as all I knew about him, was him music.

Dang I can't believe you arent a big Axl fan Matt. I think he's great. Travis, obviously, is my favorite, but I mean high vocals, and lack of putting music out (A la Chinese Democracy and whatever Travis is doing). Overrall, GNR and Travis are too different, like comparing Sinatra to Cash for example. But I was pointing how the perfectionism and lack of releasing material, and a high voice.
But I absolutely agree, he needs to do something to get his name out there. He's far too talented to be a home based musician. Trent reznor's "style" per se I think resembles Travis. Do everything yourself (again, generalizing for hte most part). Travis needs to follow suit a step further, and get a band to tour with. Reznor was electronic and Travis is (once again, generaliztation), but Reznor got atleast a touring band. Travis, just tour. We don't need perfection, we just need the songs and that voice
Just a side note- I saw Rock gods cribs, and Sebastian bach was on it. They were doing their lame, "shaky camera" thing, and went through a few of Bach;s pictures, and one was Bach and Shannon. Anyone else catch that?

Nah... I never liked Axl's voice, or his cocky attitude. In my opinion, he's one of the biggest ego douchebags of all time... I have no idea why someone like Bach would look up to him... Bach acts like he'd do anything for Axl. Bach can be great, and was... Now he looks like an Axl lacky... But, that's just me... PS - I spent a couple hours enjoying the sun, and listening to music today. And, for every minute of those 2 hours, I was listening to Sinatra live in Seattle, and then again in Jerusalem. Sinatra was great... In my personal opinion, he was better than Elvis and even Jackson...

Well TTW is signing in the past few days, but no updates. I am wondering if we will ever see an official release from him? I must say that I am surprised, definitely a unique musician in my opinion...

Only Memory is a good song, very different. I don't understand that no one will pick him up. He easily has atleast 12 decent songs to put into an album. It might not dominate the charts or anything, but it is too good to go unnoticed. I'm tired of all the bs on the radio someone give him a chance!!!
