lame. what if im 20 and can rock out shannons lyrics? im just so fed up right now... if i was given the opportunity that travis was, i wouldn't have blown it as bad as him. selfish ... he just wants to record his solo cd and is over melon... maybe he has issues, but we all do, and to quit on a band like blind melon? senseless, stupid, selfish... You wouldn't have blown it as bad as him....so how would you have blown it?

Does anyone remember a guy named Mike Mclaughlin who used to play in a few bands in the Philly area?? Most noteably " The Conrads-- or "The Turncoats" ?? Great live and a great songwriter. I'll try to download some stuff, I'm a computer retard! I have'nt seem him in a few years, but I always remember people saying they could'nt believe he never made it big. He'd be a great fit in the Melon Patch!!!

just started reading the thread, must admit im enjoying some drink induced foggy headedness right now, but what about chris shinn, i still dont believe they will actually try to get some random person off the street, theyve been burned by someone they thought they new ( not to bring up bad stuff), so why would they consider a stranger, i say, chris shinn all the way. (i know i probably missed something, sorry)

Too bad they couldn't do a one nighter with Elliott Smith singing the melon songs, i dunno how it'd work out but... blind melon and ELLIOTT SMITH for one night!? How could anything wrong come out of that

uh wow.
dont think it would work though, elliotts voice was too fragile...even his heaviest stuff (early heatmiser) couldnt pull off real strong & powerful vocals
mic city sons...one of the best albums ever btw.

I still think Chris Shinn FTW
(If I was in the USA going to that new years show, I'd make a shirt outta that!)
.....or maybe they could get that singer from Blitzen Trapper...that might work! (heheh).

I know he's dead, and even if he wasn't he couldn't pull it off convincingly, but i have the right to dream!
