I watched those videos that Matt posted and now I love another song, so THANK YOU, MATT! Sun Will Come kicks ass... Yeah "The Sun Will Come" is an amazing song. One of a couple Unified Theory songs that happens to have a stong Melon flavor. If you like "The Sun Will Come" definately check out the songs "Wither", "Passive", "Full Flavor" and "Keep On" off the self titled album. Those songs in particular have that same Melon flavor and can give you a taste of what I hope will come to pass. Now I see why people hope for them to choose him and maybe hear some UT mixed with the BM stuff. awesome...

I agree that pretty much every track on UT's cd kicks ass but I also wanna give props to Wither, Stompin The Fuse, and Speed Bumps along with the other tunes mentioned. I saw them live in 2000 and their game was tight. Do we know where the band stands at this point? Are they touring with CS for a bit or concentrating on finding a new singer?

To answer your question, the plan was to have Chris step in for the tour rather than cancel (postpone), but in reality, 48 hours isn't enough time to learn 2 hours worth of music from 4 different albums. I think it's safe to say Chris Shinn is the frontrunner to take over fulltime, but the band wanted to buy some time to make their long term decision. CHRIS SHINN RULES!!!

Thanks Yves. Chris Shinn has always stood out to me too. Outstanding voice but I respected his not wanting to step in 12 yrs ago. No one could have...

Hey all- It's been awhile, I know, but I was dealing with alot of personal problems, so I was in shock when I finally logged on and saw this.I had received e-mails about the cancelled shows, just as I was about to get tix.So I was completely stunned.I really wish Travis the best. I loved Travis, and am grateful that I got to see him live as many times as I did. But Chris is gifted as well, and has already worked with them, so I think it should be fine. I highly recommend to all who haven't heard it yet, the 'Unified Theory" CD, with Chris, it's awesome. And as many of you have already pointed out, we could just sing the songs if they showed up to play them- that's how much we love these guys.We just want the music to carry on. -- luv, ms megs

I don't think Chris Shinn will bring anything new to Blind Melon. He's talented and all...but this is Blind Melon we're talking about. If the band simply wants someone to be "fine", Chris is the guy. But if they want to usher in the next phase of Blind Melon, I believe they'll need something more special.

That's your opinion though and of course that's fine, but in my opinion Chris is easily as talented as Shannon was. Shannon is a legend lost, Chris is a legend in our midst. Naysayers can say what they like now but if and when a new album comes out with Chris writing and singing with the band, you will all be blown away. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind on this.
