I have no photos, but I do have a story....the rest of the group got some great pictures! Maybe they will share if you all are very nice. This was the best night of my life, the best Birthday of my life, hands down!We got there a little later than usual due to traffic.....so no stalking the band members before the show. #sigh# We did see Glen when we got on the inside and chatted him up a bit. One of his awesome artistic creations from back in the day was hanging on the wall behind his drum kit.....it was surreal to see it there, and yes pictures were taken! There were SO MANY forum melonheads at this show! I think the first 3 rows were forum members, how cool is that? The opening act the politicks www.politicksband.com/ were fucking AWESOME! They are like amazing so check out their page!!!! Its like Sublime with a twist.....very good shit. Anyway since I was celebrating my birthday I did drink a bit. Those who know me know I don't drink hardly EVER unless its a special occasion. I think seeing my favorite band for my birthday constitutes a shot, Neil supplied them. By the time Blind Melon came on I was buzzing pretty hard. The whole show I was singing along and dancing and just having the best fucking time of my life....you think it can't get any better but ....BLIND MELON FUCKING SANG ME HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I was in TOTAL SHOCK.....just total shock. This meant so much to me I can't even put it into words I still can't believe it happened so Ill have to listen to the tape, yes it was taped #evil# ! Seriously though, all through the rest of the show it was hard to keep from welling up with the happy tears, even typing this now I well up a bit. It was too much. Travis even leaned down and one point and gave me a Birthday kiss...and it wasn't on my cheek either! #smooch# During time guess who got the mic? Well, first a girl screamed into it so Travis passed it down to Sonya....she sat there for a second composing herself and then sang the first verse beautifully and perfectly! I was so happy for her and she sounded so good!!!!!! It was gorgeous! SONYA I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I also got to sing or yell, lol, part of THE PUSHER. The band gave a shout out to the forum as well, since we were all there anyway why not? This show was amazing and really meant the world to me, I cannot wait to see all the pictures and video and get a copy of the recording. This is something I will remember for the rest of my life and Ill probably be telling the story to my kids and their kids and so on and so forth. Something I should mention....at the end of the show CT was handing out guitar picks and when he handed one to the guy next to me he said "whoops not that one" and tried to trade him....they guy ended up showing me the pick CT didn't mean to give him and it said "SHANNON HOON" on it, it looked pretty worn. I am wondering if that guy gave the pick back to him outside because it seemed to mean a lot to CT. After the show it was fuh fuh fff freeeeeeeezing outside but all the band members took plenty of time to sign autographs and talk to all the fans. I was able to say thank you to all the guys and get my poster signed that I stole off the wall of the venue. That sucker is getting framed for sure! I also have to thank my wonderful friends for sneaking around and getting every band member to sign a Birthday card for me, I love you guys so much! I read your card in the car, the one from you to me, and It was hard to hold back the tears. I will miss you guys and I hope you have a fantastic time on the rest of your journey, I can't wait until we can do this together again. I cannot thank you enough for making this experience so special for me, there is nothing like seeing Blind Melon with a group of people who love them as much as you do. That you love and look forward to seeing as much as the band. Karen, Sonya, Gabbee, Ryan, and Kristen I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I miss you already! To the rest of the forum members I have met at the past few shows.....I loved sharing this with you! Now I will take my hungover ass over to the tissue and wipe my eyes.

Beautiful Mere.
I agree, this show was one of the special ones. Having all you fools in town all at once just made it better. You just knew it was going to be a good night when Travis comes out wearing a Halloween mask and a Shannon Hoon t-shirt.
