here's a "Biggest Tool Ever Moment" First time i seen the boys(never heard anything but one song prior to the show) my bud and I were sitting at the bar waiting for the doors to open(first ones there before sound check lol) and lo and behold, the guys were eating their supper beside us. I walked over and asked if there wasn't an opening act. They said "yes". I said," well is it El Torpedo?".... the looked at eachother, pretty much shook their heads in unison. Matt says "have you heard of Bob Marley AND the Wailers, Tom Petty AND the HeartBreakers? Well El Torpedo is my band" Lol, i felt like a heap that just landed from under a heifers tale. I think they seen how dumb i felt, and explained that their was indeed an openning band...but couldn't remember the name, and that they were not on the poster for that nites show. yup, my intro to the Band... oh, and for your pleasure....a Media Player...clic n enjoy... diggit... www.mattmays.com/media/audio/player/audioplayer.html

You know what I've noticed lately.... NONE of the bands I ever want to see come anywhere near me. Half the time they don't even come to Florida. What the hell is up with that? I know Florida sucks and all, but geeze

Usually nothing comes to Raleigh, but we've been lucky this year. I hope it's not just a phase...maybe Raleigh is getting cooler.

Honestly I doubt we'll be able to go b/c it's a school night and it's hard to get a babysitter on a weeknight. If it were a weekend it would be different. I'll have to check out what time the show starts, I'd bring the kids if I could. The venue is a BBQ restaurant that also hosts live music, but I think the shows typically start late. One cool thing about the 15th is that at noon The Avett Brothers are doing a free in-store performance and the indie record store in Raleigh. We're going to try to go to that since the boys will be in school...but it will probably be so packed full of people that we may not even be able to get in the door. It's a tiny store and they have a large following in this area.
