So you mean his guitar? I didn't know what you mean with Shannon's "hummingbird", I know what a hummingbird is translated litteraly but I don't think Shannon had one, lol. So anyway, if this is another expression to say his guitar, I can't help, sorry.

This sounds like a good question to ask Rogers in his section of the forum. He'd probably be the best person to ask.

Well off the top of my head the Hummingbird model would be made by Gibson, though for the most part I can only remember Shannon playing Guilds, though I can't remember what he was playing on the I&I perhaps he was playing a Gibson. THat is a really great question because I am pretty sure that he played Gibsons as well. What I can remember is Woodstock, and other Acousitic gigs where he was playing Guilds.

Here's a story that turns my stomach.... I knew an older lady once who had a beautiful, beautiful Hummingbird, with the actual little colored picture of the hummingbird on one side. She didn't like it because it didn't "match" to her, and she used craft paints to paint a matching bird on the OTHER side to even things up. It looked like something from a garage sale after she was through. I coulda socked her one.

Those are beautiful guitars. A friend of mine has one. Named her buttercup. She rings so pure and true, and loud for a small guitar! Sustain... mmmmm... sustenance. Love that guitar.
