Hey April, i just did the same thing as chileanmelonhead did and my conclusion is that the eyes are a tiny bit too big and too high...the brow needs to be a bit lower... Some finer points i noticed is that the jaw has to be a bit more rounded at the sides, also the front part of the nose needs to be a little smaller in size... the hairline a little rounder and EARS!!! lol... Other than that fantastic job!!! I want to see you top the class!!! Please dont take these comments to heart, im just being helpful... And you know April, if the clay is strong enough you could make a mould out of the clay, so you can make multiple heads which you could sell to melonheads... i tell you now i would buy one... ive always wanted a bust of Shannon...

I just noticed that you did an incredible job on Shannons lips. To do somebody like Shannon who has very delicate features and make it as good as you did it that well is awesome, but you know already I love it.

Nice, it's better than before! I think he has some elements of Shannon but if I wouldn't know Shannon was your model and someone would ask me who is this I don't think I would guess it. No offense Ap, just wanna be honest You still did a really good job, I can't imagine how hard it is to do it... oh and I know what you meant about all the work with gypsum that you mentioned on the previous page.

Thats harsh... It looks incredible Apes the one thing that would make it look dead on is eye brows I think thats definetly the one element of a persons face that gives defintion, though it looks absolutely awesome. I think that Shannon lost alot of the weight from his face as you can see from his temples, so the picture in itself really is not the best when we think of the shannon. The cheek bones, the lips, everything are superb infact i think that you did more of a better job in the fact that shannons face was more sunken in late 95'. I think there was probably easier pictures of shannon in which you didn't have to workas hard on cheek bones and that. Though for a first one that is simply stunning. The differences are very miniscule, and small tinkering is all you need. Keep on keepin on, your a great artist

Thats harsh... I really didn't find it harsh but if it was, I apologize, my comment definitely wasn't meant as an offence or to put April's work down or anything. I prefer to be honest and tell what I think than to say something I don't think only to be polite. I don't know how it is in your school April, but I'm used to cristism from the art schools I did and I want people to tell me honestly what they think about my work because it's one of the things that helps me to progress. Also, I might be more critic about it because I have a lot of friends who are into arts and they did sculptures too. Anyhoons, Colin made a good point about the pic you choose, it was probbaly a hard one to make Shannon's head after it. I didn't think of it before and when you told us that this will be the pic for your model, I even found it great! Probably simply cause I love the pic, but to make a sculpture of Shannon after it, it's another thing. Again, April, I'm sorry if you found my comment harsh too. You know I love you with all my heart And I also meant it when I said that you did a great job. When I looked more at the pics I found it better and better, honestly.

Hey Barbs, I thought it was a bit harsh just for the fact that it doesn't look that much off from what Shannon looks like. I think facial lines, and eye brows and all of that would make it look morelike Shannon as for composition of the face i think its right on. I just figured comparing him from the Rolling Stone or any of the early pics is not really comparable in the way shannon changed, considering Shannon lost a lot of weight on his face. Even in the pic apes chose it doesn't look like shannon, if that makes sense. I think the pic in itself was kinda of a lifeless shannon with his facial features not clearly defined. Your totally right a better picture could have probably been chosen.
