I confess I must go by video and what I know of him here since they've not yet come to Philly and I was dirt poor after the vigil so couldn't travel to the shows as I wanted. My take on him at this point is he is blunt, honest, funny as hell, and maybe eccentric? That's ALL stuff good though but seriously, he has such a great sense of humor and something that stood out to me other than that he has been in the background WAY too long for someone that funny is that he was never nasty or mean if someone touched on a BM topic, especially about Shannon, that he didn't want to answer. He was open with us and incredibly endearing and I think we all love him a bit more now that he has opened up a bit and let us talk with him. I can't wait to meet him! His art is very interesting and I especially enjoyed his painting of Rogers. I'd love to see more of what he can do!
WE LOVE GLEN!!! #hoonsmiley#

Glen is the man. No doubt. I think of him as "The Secret Weapon" of the band.

Glen is the man. No doubt. I think of him as "The Secret Weapon" of the band. I think you said it best. Drummers are always hidden and not as mobile as the rest of the band, but his drumming just stands out so much to me. I wonder if he is trained, self taught or just feels out the rythym around him. He is the groups super "Lazerbeam" lol.

I think it's great that Glen is content to "stay in the backgound". Although, judging by the amount of chicks around him before and during the shows I'd say he's not too hidden. I think he's just fantastic.

.... Glen is cool. I was kinda scared to talk to him... I found out that he is a total gentleman. After shoot'n the breeze he said I looked very familiar to him. Maybe as a teenager we ran into each other playing music in Tenn. or Ark. Thanks Glen for gett'n back w/ Blind Melon.

My respect and admiration for Glen grows everyday. He's brilliant. I always find myself imitating his beats using pencils instead of sticks.

My respect and admiration for Glen grows everyday. He's brilliant. This is true for me too. Every time I listen to the new songs I think "damn he's good". I think it listening to the old stuff too, but I've had over a decade to appreciate that. His drumming in Make a Difference and Right Set of Eyes especially resonate with me.

I've been trying to pay extra attention to Glen's work since I usually don't focus enough on the drumming. He is phenomenal!

Glen's playing goes straight to my spinal column and forces it to move. He swings, man. And I agree w/Sonya...'Right Set' and 'Difference' are two of the new songs that, for me, showcase Glen in all his can-kicking glory.

Okay, I have finally been able to see some of the new videos that are circulating. And after having seen three shows recently, and also in watching these videos. . . I am just completely blown away by Glen Graham's drumming skills. He knows when to play light taps on the cymbals or when to make a crash with the gong at a crucial moment. I've always enjoyed that quote from him in that Japanese promo video where Glen says that musicians, "need to use "not playing" as part of the of your playing". I've always thought that was cool. Because really, music is about the difference and contrast between the notes and the rests. Some drummers would just try to fill every available space with a note. I just think his drumming kicks ass, and he is such an integral part of Blind Melon. Listen to the new recordings of him playing the end of "Last Laugh" or during CT's guitar solo on "Make a Difference". WOW!!! I also have to say that the new ending to "2 x 4" is very intense as well ! ! ! And I got to talk with him after the shows in Falls Church and Charlotte, and he was very cool and willing to talk with the fans. So that's all that this post is about. Glen rocks! #rock#

Yep! Glen fuckin' rules. He's added so much to the old songs... and his style can vary like a mofo.
If you listen to Make a Difference and then listen to a song like Sometimes, a non-Melon fan wouldn't think it was the same drummer.

This is going to be so dumb, but here it goes... I have so much more appreciation for drummers after this weekend. I recieved Rockband as a gift for X-Mas and finally had time to sit down and play a bit. (I know it isn't real drumming) I suck so bad and then to go back and listen to some of the greats (Glen being among the top for me) it blows my mind!!!

Drumming on rockband is freaking hard man. I don't see how drummers do it especially the great ones.
