This may come as no surprise to some of you who know me but I met Rogers in 2001 while pregnant with my daughter as he came out of the bathroom. My friend ran up and grabbed his hand to bring him to me. I felt like a little kid in a candy store because he was so kind and polite. He goes, "Hi I'm Rogers." I looked at him and was like, "Do you know who you are???" I know...I'm a HUGE dork! I told him he was a God to me and he got all shy and embarrassed! He introduced me to his wife (then fiancee) and made sure his tour manager didn't charge me for the cd they were selling at the show. He also gave me the setlist which Rogers signed and Rogers' guitar pick. What a treasure eh? I stood in front of him and just smiled like a dumbass through the whole show. He was SO incredibly sweet and cool! He opitimizes the phrase "true Southern gentlemen!" Oh and the cute little dance he does while playing makes him even cuter. I'll go on all night so that's it for now! Oh and before those of you who know me ask, no I didn't ask if he washed his hands before I shook his hand! Diana #hoonsmiley#

..... on a solid note: I got my son ( now 21 ) into Blind Melon. Over the years he took a very wrong turn. The same road that Shannon was on. I did ALL I could do, even offered my soul for his. Then came Blind MeLon again ... Stu went to many of the shows, as well as I did. Stu was in front of Rogers every time , watched and listened. He bought his own Fender - amp and all the other stuff. He taught himself how to play and he's pretty good! We've jammed together - teaching other young guns Blind Melon music. SO... Rogers, you are the best! Thank you for the inspiration and the positive impact you had on my son. He was the kid in front of you at Fayetteville Ark.

Here's a strange coincidence! My Veterinarian, Dr. Timothy Hallman, bears a striking resemblance to Rogers Stevens, sans hat. I will try to nonchalantly get a picture for the forums when I bring the puppy in for her booster shots in a couple weeks. If he's never heard of Blind Melon I am going to feel like such an idiot. I think I'll print a picture of Rogers to show him, also. (not the guitar faces one, LOL!)

I only realized JUST how much they play off of each other after me and a friend smoked a bowl yesterday (i dunno if occasional herb talk is frowned about here) and was listening to toes across the floor. Man do they just go back and forth, almost like their guitars are having a conversation together

I went to State my Freshman yr as well, but in '84 - grew up in MS in Jackson...after my 1st yr at MSU I finally got the heck out of MS and went to Boston, then NYC and then moved to LA for 4 yrs the same yr they did and was in the film/TV business - parallel lives! LOL!
I even got a job working for an agent going to clubs at night in LA/on the strip - looking for new talent - comedy or music but quit as I hated staying up late in smokey clubs - who knows - I could have maybe met them if I'd stuck it out!
And to be weirder - I worked for a talent agent at David Shapiro and Associate who represented them...so our lives kept crossing..my parents lived outside of New Orleans so I hung out there a ton while BM was living there and around Shannons' death - I was always at Tipatina's...always wondered what might have been...so close so many times...oh well...fun to dream...
