So i've been hearing rumors and I've been meaning to do some searching for months and I can't believe I'm actually experiencing this!!!
This band was probably the most influential band in my life!!!
All my life experiences and adventures ;D had a blind melon song attributed to them. From falling in love and heart break to having a baby and trying to get it together, to just wanting to be me, and the drugs...oh man...do any of you remember how plentiful LSD was back then? Couldn't say now cuz I've been sober now for a couple years.
Sleepyhouse was probably "THE" song for me...always brought a tear to my eye for some reason...."the mistakes that I've made, no they don't seem to bother me and I sure as hell don't feel like I've missed any kind of train..." that line alone made me feel like no matter what, everything's going to be OK. Their music struck a chord in my soul and the lyrics were in tune with everything I was feeling and doing at that time...and sometimes still feel.
anyhoo...
I never got to see them and they've been through chicago a bunch and now I see that I missed them again..I'm so pissed!!!
Now that I'm not spending all my time and money getting high, I have to spend all my time and money being somewhat responsible.....Three kids, two jobs, a mortgage, and a partridge in a pear tree....
I still might have a chance to get down to Memphis, Guess I'll have to play hooky from work. Jeez, A thirty one year old man calling in sick to go see a band...like I said, somewhat responsible.
I don't know ....
What I DO know is...Blind melon is back together, the new songs are great, and Travis does a hell of a job with the old ones. He's as good as it gets.
THANK YOU BLIND MELON FOR DOING THIS!!! YOUR MUSIC (AS ONE) MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE AS A YOUNG MAN!!! HOPE YOU GUYS CAN DROP A RECORD AND PUT SOME MORE SHOWS ON THE TOUR !!!
