The show here in Austin was INCREDIBLE!! It really took awhile for it to sink in that I was actually listening to Blind Melon... live! I drove all the way there looking at my tickets every now and then, telling my wife that never in my life did I think I would have concert tickets with "Blind Melon" on them. It was a very surreal feeling.
The show blew me away and was even better than I expected. Travis was amazing.... I have no idea how in the hell he sings so high and with so much power, especially while smoking and chewing gum the entire time, lol. I think he was impressed with us as he kept saying Austin had the loudest fans of any city so far. They came back out for a few encore songs and Travis went stage-diving at one point. While being passed around he fell on my wife's head (we thought he was going another direction). Thankfully they're both OK and she will definitely remember the concert, HAH!!
Man, I am still in shock. It wasn't until about 45-minutes into the show that it finally hit me, "IM WATCHING BLIND MELON!!" Please come back to Austin soon!

Welcome jread, I know that SURREAL feeling you are speaking of. It feels GREAT doesn't it? My first show was Charlotte last November, I have 5 shows under my belt now. They all give me that SURREAL feeling, what a great show these guys put on. I am glad to hear your wife is OK, sound like there are a few battle wounds out there from the recent shows. Thanks for the phone call Gabby! During Soak, the reception was really bad so I couldn't hear much of the song, but I'm glad I didn't hang up, cuz the rest of the show sounded awesome!!! Thanks so much! I had taken a sleeping pill about 10 minutes before you called, so by the time the encore started, I was a bit loopy. Laying in bed with the show on speakerphone and a huge smile on my face - you made my night!!

I am uploading pics now and will have some up before I go. I will put all of them on my myspace so check them all out if you want.
I started the Tour Wounds thread just now. My battery died before I could start it, then we slept for 2 hours, went to the emergency room and then drove to Houston.

Well, besides Paul, my buddy passed right on out outside the door as I gave out kazoos. He got a pretty serious concussion, but he's alright. Bummer we missed the show, but it's great he's OK!

This show was AMAZING. The band electrified the room and fueled the joy that was palpable among the audience. We gave it right back to the band in the form of screams, shouts, catcalls, fist-pumping, sing-alongs and sheer Melonheaded Hysteria. My voice is still so hoarse I can't even sing 'For my Friends' to myself in a falsetto like I so dearly love to do. Blind Melon is back and they freaking ROCK.
BTW, I was the tallest guy in the room, with the long dark hair and goatee. My wife cursed at a guy who stepped on her foot, but she apologized later. That was us. We love you.
