Other SIde of the World, KT Tunstall

Over the sea and far away
She's waiting like an iceberg
Waiting to change
But she's cold inside
She wants to be like the water

All the muscles tighten in her face
Buries her soul in one embrace
They're one and the same
Just like water

The fire fades away
Most of everyday
Is full of tired excuses
But it's to hard to say
I wish it were simple
But we give up easily
You're close enough to see that
You're the other side of the world to me

On comes the panic light
Holding on with fingers and feelings alike
But the time has come
To move along

The fire fades away

Can you help me
Can you let me go
And can you still love me
When you can't see me anymore

The fire fades away

I love that so many are touched by The Red Hot Chili Peppers! As am I.

Mouthful Of Cavities by Blind Melon - I will repeat this often, but for me the vocals from Shannon And Jena are just stunning, they are so much more than the tune or the lyrics. Never fails to bring tears to my eyes

Otherside By Red Hot Chili Peppers - This is where I repeat myself. John's background vocals on this particular song absolutely haunt me. Any fan, or non-fan for that matter, of the Chilis knows that neither John or Anthony are the best singers in the world but John's backing vocals compliment Anthony's perfectly on every song but particularly this one for me.

Aint It Fun by Guns N' Roses Feat. Mike Monroe - Not a song I listen to an awful lot these days but it reminds me of a time when someone I loved very much died.

Dying Song By John Frusciante - I cannot convey how much this man means to me, his music, his words, his way of being just john, simply stuns me on a daily basis. This song is just sooooo sad but sung and arranged so beautifully it takes my breath away.

I'm going away, forever,
I'm going away, forever,
Never coming back this way,
Never coming back to this place.

What I need is a heaven,
What I really need is a heaven,
A place to go where I can really be,
A place to go where I can really be
Where I can really be.

Dreaming my life away, counts for nothing,
Dreaming my life away, counts for nothing,
But nothing ever is the end,
No, nothing ever is the end.

It's sure been a full life for me, yeah
It's sure been a full life for me, yeahh
It's sure been a full life for me, baby, its sure been a full life for me

I didn't know this song made me cry until now. I don't listen to country music all that often, but it's a song by Alison Krauss & Brad Paisley called Whiskey Lullaby. It's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard ;(

She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night

1st Chorus
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

(Sing lullaby)

The rumors flew but nobody know how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night

2nd Chorus
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

Yes Shana, this is such a sad song! I actually remember someone posting it earlier in this thread, last spring maybe? Sort of reminds me of a romeo & juliette sort of story. So tragic when timing and confusion can cause such permanent damage in something so good.

Pastoral- Jesus Lizard
Thumb- Dinosaur Jr
Blackhole- Beck
Planet Caravan- Black Sabbath
Kitchenware and Candy bars- Stone Temple Pilots
Rotten Apple- Alice In Chains
Indifference- Pearl Jam
With Teeth- Melvins
Marry Lady Bobby Kins- Melvins

Some of these songs deal with heavy issues, while others just have a sad tone or vibe. Either way they'll make ya want to cry.

Everybody Hurts- REM -it used to make me cry a lot, not that much these days-
Strange Currencies- REM
Don't Go Away, Rockin Chair,Take Me Away- Oasis
Don't Cry- Guns n Roses

So many BM songs give that feeling, but at Time when Shannon's screamin it really makes me wanna cry....

And... finally if you listen all these songs and then listen to The Drugs Don't Work by Verve - for me- you'll have headache for the rest of the day...

Lie to me, My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms, It's Hard Letting You Go- Bon jovi are not bad either... Ooh and These Days' lyrics are fantastic for that especially "...don't you know that all my heroes died..." part...

I can't believe, I wrote lots of things, that's enough.. I thought that I'd write just 2-3 songs...

and for the last... Wasted Time- Skid Row

Sweet Zoe Jane - Staind (acoustic)
Nutshell - Alice in Chains
Fix you - Coldplay

Songs performed that have memories associated with it (not so much the content-but maybe) can make my voice crack, make me hold back tears, so that I can finish:
Lavender - Marillion
