I do a blog, welcometofarleyville.blogspot.com, about Chris Farley and recently came across a Blind Melon show from the Roseland Ballroom on Febuary 17, 1994 from archive.org. During the performance of "Walk" you can clearly here Chris's voice talking to a fan in the audience next to the taper, which is kind of neat. Anywho my question is was there a relationship between Farley and Hoon? I have come across a couple of people saying it online, but I guess was looking for something more concrete. Does a photo of the two exist? Is there any stories about Chris and Shannon? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance, Jon

Hi Jon, welcome to the forum... As you may know already, Chris appeared on stage dressed as the bee girl, and did a little jig on SNL prior to Blind Melon's performance of No Rain on Jan 8, 1994... the clip is out there on the net somewhere, it used to be... here is a backstage pass on ebay that shows the outfit, not sure if the pass is legit though... cgi.ebay.com.au/BLIND-MELON-Backstage-Pass_W0QQitemZ270398409257QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ef5004a29&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14Here is a photo accompanied by an entry which can be found in Greg Prato's book "A Devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other; the story of Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon": "Shelley Shaw (friend): The did Saturday Night Live, which was fun and really huge for them. I did come east for the Saturday Night Live thing. I remember Shannon said that he really connected with Chris Farley. I think that he said that he found some sort of kinship there and he loved him so much. I don't know if they kept up or hung out or anything after that, but i remember them 'clicking'. Rogers Stevens (guitarist): [Chris Farley] was a great guy. My impression of him was that he was just like his T.V personality- really funny. We had no idea he was going to do that bee girl costume thing- totally surprised us." (Prato, pg.130) There should be a better copy of the photo out there... I'm a huge Farley fan, and as a huge Blind Melon fan there couldnt be a better match of personalities...
